Lanvin, returns with their Cruise Collection for 2012. As expected, the line exhibits a balance between sophistication and edge, with muted hues, loose fabric, and regal embellishments. Lanvin director, Alber Elbaz, summons his inspiration for the collection from regal fashion figures such as, Madame Gres, Elizabeth Taylor and Princes Harry and William. Elbaz hits the mark with a focus on voluminous silhouettes and jeweled detailing. The line features flapper-inspired fringe dresses, maxi gowns, ethereal blazers and pants, and vintage bathing suits.
