Mod Pick: Coldplay + Rihanna-"Princess of China"


This week's pick is a cut from Coldplay's 5th and latest album, Mylo Xyloto, entitled "Princess if China". The British crooners mix thing up a bit, with a quite surprising collaboration. The track features vocals from hit maker Rihanna and is overall electrifying.

The Canadian native speaks about his goal to capture the minds of women through his music, while touching upon the subject of being consistent and becoming a legend. Venezuelan artist Jesus Gonalez Rodriquez, has formulated portraits that are sure to have your mind bending. The series of photographs entitled, "1/2", consist of two faces merged and cut to create an optical-illusion. The images are set against a white backdrop giving observers two sides to look at. Victoria Secret model, Miranda Kerr was captured out Manhattan earlier this week wearing a leather biker jacket from Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2011 collection. Florence + The Machine Covers Drake's "Take Care"


British multi-genre band, Florence + the Machine has been receiving much acclamation following the success of their debut album, Lungs. Upon the release of their sophomore album, Ceremonials, lead singer Florence Welch adds her spin to the song Take Care, which is originally performed by Drake and fellow artist Rihanna. The original song is a track off of Drake's Sophomore album, Take Care, which was released earlier this month. Upon the start of the remix, the enigmatic artist declares her respect for Drake and her love for the song as well.

Along with business partner Giancarlo Giammetti, Valentino Garavani is the latest designer to dig into his archives with a virtual museum that will allow us to forego standing in lines. In form of a downloadable desktop app, the archive will be available December 5 and mimics a 100,000 square foot museum, with an interior inspired by Roman architecture and lighting.

Frank Ocean Named GQ's Rookie of the Year


Frank Ocean has been doing it big this year. With positive cosigns from great artist such as Jay-Z, Pharrell, Beyonce and Kanye West, it is without a doubt that Frank Ocean is an extraordinary musician. This up coming producer, songwriter, and performer has been in high demand throughout the year to produce hits for well known artists and make features on  their albums. Although Frank Ocean has been in the game for years writing songs for artists under the def jam label, it was not until his album, Nostalgia. Ultra hit heavy throughout the web earlier this year that he received the attention he deserved. As a part of receiving more honors, acclaimed style magazine, GQ has crowned Ocean as "Rookie of the Year" in their "Men of the Year" issue for 2011.
