Fashion Hotspots: Golden Globes

Many stars made an appearance at the, infamous, Golden Globes Award ceremony. Before making their way into the venue to celebrate the best in tv and film, a few stars stopped by the red carpet to give onlookers a peek of what they were wearing. See all the beautiful celebs and what the wore after the jump.

It's hard to top Angelina Jolie's gown from last year's Golden Globes. Jolie had all eyes on her last year, while wearing a green and fitting Versace gown, but held back a little this year in a Atelier Versace gown featuring a bold red trim.
Charlize Theron definitely did not disappoint when she showed up to the Golden Globes in an amazing  blush Christian Dior gown.

Winner of the night, Claire Danes wore a J.Mendel gown that did not seem so great on the red carpet, at first. But, after seeing her dress up close on stage and getting a peek of the back, it would seem Mendel was actually a pretty good choice for the "Homeland" star.

Selma Hayek opted for a shimmering gown from Gucci' Spring 2012 collection.

I was a bit indecisive about my feeling towards, Glee star, Diana Argon's Giles Deacon dress. I admire her bold choice on the carpet and the color was beutiful, but the dress seemed a bit over the top with the teir lace bottom and laser-cut out swans on the top.

Unlike Argor, Freida Pinto shyed away from a bold gown, opting for a simple Prada gown instead. Maybe a little too simple though, Freida.

Jessica Alba gets a B- for her strapless lavender embroidered Gucci gown paired with Bulgari Jewelry, but an A+ for looking the way she does 6 months after giving birth to a child.

Jessica Biel gets points for this shear-laced Elib Saab gown. However, im not quite sure if it was right for this event.

Sofia Vergara brings flair to any carpet she is on. The 'Modern Family' beauty is never afraid of showing off her, near perfect, curves. She definitely didn't shy away from showing them off in a midnight blue Vera Wang gown at the Golden Globes, either.

Jodie Foster made her appearance on the Golden Globes carpet in a strapless and sparkling blue Georgia Armani gown.

Kate Beckinsale was a definite Golden Globes red carpet favorite in this sequined Roberto Cavalli gown and her, stunning, cascading diamond earrings.

Madonna appeared in true 'Madonna' fashion, wearing an eye catching gown and a hand glove.

'Bridesmaids" star, Melissa McCarthy kept things simple and wore a long-sleeved, green Badgley Mischka gown with an embellished jeweled neckline.

A red carpet fashion favorite, Mila Kunis, looked amazing in an all black Christian Dior gown. She definitely did the fashion house justice as the new face of Dior.

Nicole Richie looked glamorous in a silver beaded, old hollywood styled dress by and a sparkling House of  Harlow 1960 clutch of course

Love! love! love! the color and draping effect of this Lanvin gown, Emma Stone wore to the event, but between the sleeves and the belt something seems a little off.

Major winner of the night, Octavia Spencer, wore a lavender gown by Tadashi Shoji paired with Christian Louboutin heels. The look fit her well.

Lea Michele made her apperance at the event in a silver jewled Marchesa gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewelery.

Paula Patton made a truly bold and vibrant appearance on the Golden Globes red carpet in a very yellow Monique Lhuillier gown.

Piper Perabo made a big impression on the red carpet with a larger than life skirted gown by Theyskens' Theory. Although the color looked great on her, the dress seemed more fitting for a princess ball.

Resse Witerspoon opted for a simple strapless number by Zac Posen Creation.

My personal fashion favorite, Rooney Mara, appeared on the red carpet, unsurprisingly, in an all black gown by Nina Ricci. Mara is by far one of the best when it comes to pulling off modern and minimal designs. However, Mara's dress seemed to be a bit mediocre this time. The cut out and draped construction of the top of the dress looked amazing, but the bottom sort of flat lined.

Sarah Michelle Gellar admitted to letting her 2-yr old daughter pick out her dress by Monique Lhuillier. I think that speaks enough volume for itself.

Shailene Woodley has been acing her red carpet looks at all the award events thus far. Woodley was a bit safe, though, this time around wearing a light grey chiffon Marchesa gown.

Before making any harsh comments on the outfit, keep in mind that this is Tilda Swinton. Swinton is always making bold yet, oddly admirable fashion statements that are fitting to her personality. She knows how to wear a suit and keep it feminine. She does androgyny to the 'T'. However, although I often admire her daring red carpet picks, she totally missed the mark at the Golden Globes in this sky blue Haider Ackermann number.

Viola Davis was radiant in a one-shouldered burgundy chiffon gown by Emilio Pucci. The color looked amazing on her.

Zooey Deschanel is often admired for her fun and quirky personal style. The star is usually nailing her retro looks, but failed to impress everyone this time around in a black and green sequined Prada dress.
