When you look at Balmain's Spring 2012 line of footwear, you see excellent craftsmanship. But, of course, attention to detail is always expected from Balmain. The line is absolutely stunning. New Balmain head designer, Olivier Rousteing, credits the marvelous designs to "the tailoring of Mexico and the glamour of Vegas." The vision in mind is surely reflected through the intricate yet amazing embroidery, beading, and clean cut outs seen throughout the line. New Music: SBTRKT - Ride to Freedom

London based DJ, SBTRKT, unveils a new track just before the new year entitled, Ride to Freedom. The electronic soloist, notably recognized by his mysteriously hidden identity behind a zulu mask, realeases the track upon major success from his self entitled album. The song focuses primarily on SBTRKT'S unique dub-step harmonies and does not feature any vocals. Listen to the track after the jump.

Nicole Richie has been making her rounds throughout L.A for the holidays looking stylish as always. There is no question that the star is a fashionista in her on sense. Richie knows how to add her own personal touch to every outfit and own her looks. The style maven has even launched two sister lines. Mod Pick: The Black Keys- Gold on the Ceiling

The Grammy award winning duo, The Black Keys released their seventh studio album, El Camino, earlier this month. After achieving tremendous success from their last album, Brothers, the duo is back with some more Grammy-worthy hits. Their first single off the album entitled, Lonely Boys, has already hit hard on the charts. The band recently made a few TV appearances, performing another track entitled, Gold on the Ceiling. New Music: Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is among the many artists that have been releasing unheard tracks lately. The superstar shares her spontaneously recorded track, "Stuck On F**kin' You" with her fans. Gaga claims to have recorded the track while she was on tour with no intention to release it. "We recorded it in one shot. Fernando on guitar, Paul on Drum Machine. I wrote, sang it, and freestyled the last minute + a half of the song.", Gaga stated.  The song is not expected to be on the singers upcoming album, but you can surely listen to it after the jump.

Band of Outsiders Pre-Fall 2012

 

Band of Outsiders designer, Scott Stenburg, takes a trip back to Manhattan. The Band of Outsider's Pre-Fall 2012 collection gathers inspiration from actress Diane Keaton in the 1979 classic, Manhattan, for their BOY campaign. The label keenly captures the cross between tomboy and studious chic. Stenburg credits his    vision to his love of the film and his admiration of Keaton's simplistic and smart sensibility. “I was re-watching Manhattan for like the 15th time,” Stenburg said. “And that way of dressing that you see in Diane Keaton’s character – corduroy suits, button ups, a certain type of plaid, a high neck...just seemed really fresh, or close to it…certainly in need of an update but the nice." Model, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was seen in West Hollywood shopping for Christmas cards. Rosie looked chic as always wearing an ivory blazer and light wash cropped jeans. New Music: Frank Ocean - " 4 Tears", "Try" & "Girlfriend's Best Friend"

Frank Ocean is preparing to re-release his viral hit, Nosalgia, Ultra. Although, it is unclear when Ocean will release the album, various new tracks from the artist have been popping up all across the web. A few months back two of Ocean's song, "Try" and"Girlfriend's Best Friend" were leaked online. Now, a new potential track for the album entitled, "4 Tears" , has hit the net and is expected to be Ocean's first single off the EP. Hear the track along with along with "Try" and "Girlfriend's Best Friend" after the jump.

Mod Men: Junya Watanabe Comme des Garcons MAN 2012 Spring/Summer

Junya Watanabe Comme des Garcon is back with more classic pieces for their Spring/Summer 2012 MAN collection. The label provides a preview of their latest collection along with a sample of their collaboration with North Face and  Levi's and Lee.The line gravitates its inspiration from the working man. Adele holds Best Selling Album since 2004

When discussing the greatest artist of 2011, Adele is sure to pop up in the conversation.With 20 million records sold world wide and a number one album to date, its no doubt that Adele had a phenomenal year. The 23 year old British crooner continues to push boundaries as she has become the first artist in over 50 years to have over two top five singles and two songs on the charts at the same time. In addition to her various accomplishment, Adele's latest album, 21, has proceeded to surpass Usher's 2004 record, Confessions, as the highest selling album of all time. Chanel Iman x Wall Street Journal

Chanel Iman snags the December cover of Wall Street Journal Magazine. The Victoria Secret model takes some time off from the runway to complete a shoot for WSJ with photograher, Hans Feurerl. Rihanna - "You Da One" Official Video

Rihanna has finally released the highly anticipated video for her latest single "You Da One". After being exposed to a series of behind the scenes footage for the video, Rihanna's fans finally get to experience the visuals in full form. The video, directed by Melina Matsoukas, pulls inspiration from Stanley Kubrick's classic film, "A Clockwork Orange". The star does not hold back, as she continues to push censorship boundaries with her exotic and fun natured attitude. Check out the video after the jump.

Beyonce was seen doing some last minute shopping for the holiday in New York City this week. The star did not let her pregnancy stop her from looking fierce as usual. The fashion house, Balenciaga, is known for it's outrageous shoe designs and Balenciaga's Spring/Summer 2012 collection keeps to the tradition. As usual the shoes resemble pieces you would find in an art gallery. This season's collection integrates flared architectural cut outs with colorful prints. The Weeknd - Echoes of Silence

It's finally Here! The highly anticipated mixtape, Echoes of Silence, by The Weeknd was officially released earlier today. This is the third mixtape installment this year from indie sensation, the Weeknd. You can expect  the same extraordinary music from Abel Tesfaye. The artist does an epic cover of Micheal Jackson's Dirty Diana, and unexpectedly serenades his listener's in French. Pippa Middelton was spotted in London getting a cup of coffee and looking stylish as always. The royal fashionista opted to carry an Oyster Croc Modalu London bag, from the Pippa collection named in honor of her (You know you're royalty when you have designer purses named after you). In addition, Pippa wore a black knee length double breasted trench coat paired with a fur scarf, black opaque stocking and suede ankle boots. Mod Pick: Alexa Meade - Real Life Paintings

Look very close at the painting above. Just a simple painting right? Actually, its more like a photograph. Believe it or not the man in the picture above is in fact a real-life human being covered in layers of acrylic paint. American artist, Alexa Meade is by far one of the most ingenious visionaries I have ever come across. Many artist posse the talent of recreating life through art. Meade, however, works in a totally opposite direction. Meade combines painting, installation, and photography to transforms 3D figures into 2D space.  Her ability to redefine traditional paintings is far beyond exceptional. Her art is far beyond mind blowing. Each photograph will have you doing a double take and questioning whether or not the picture could truly be real . Its quite rare that you find a label that can properly execute an androgynous inspired women's line nearly as well as Paul Smith has done on countless occasions. The Paul Smith Spring/Summer 2012 collection is exquisite as usual. Designer Paul Smith fittingly incorporates feminine attributes into commonly masculine designs. Aside form an arrangement of eccentric patterns and striking colors, the line still maintains a sense of simplicity with it's clean cut designs and relaxed silhouettes. The loose fitted silk chiffon dresses and skirts are quite distinctive. Katie Holmes has been making her rounds across New York upon recently her 33rd Birthday. Mod Artist: Lana Del Rey

Indie sensation turned Interscope artist, Lana Del Rey is taking the music industry by storm with her uncanny folk inspired music. Del Rey's musical style and stage presence is quite unconventional. Her vintage Americana look and slightly edgy sound, has led to her new label as the "gangster Nancy Sinatra". The 24 year old singer first popped onto the scene with an EP for her debut singles "Video Games" and "Blue Jeans", which climbed to the top five of the US iTunes Charts within hours. Following her highly acclaimed EP, the singer quickly sold out her first show in London. Del Rey is set to release an album next month, entitled, Born to Die. The songstress recently publicized the video for her album entitled single as well.
